Pregnancy


During your pregnancy, preparing for childbirth is the main focus. We get to know each other, we explore wishes and desires, take a closer look at fears, stress and uncertainties, and gradually build a bond of trust. What else do you want information and awareness about?

We can talk about relaxation, breathing techniques, mindfulness exercises, birthing positions, your birth plan, what if you have to go to the hospital, postpartum concerns, energy, nutrition & supplements and so on.

 

We meet several times. I meet with your partner, children and pets, and they meet with me. We practice massage and work some with the Rebozo. I also teach your (birth) partner how to apply this. If you want, I go with you to the midwife or gynecologist. All this so that you can experience your pregnancy in peace and quiet and go into labor and delivery as fit and confident as possible.

 

You know exactly what to expect from me and I know what you want, what makes you happy, what you need and what triggers you.

Peace, safety and trust: an important basis for childbirth and a good start as a family. It is a time to be and stay connected with yourself, each other and your baby.

Delivery


We agree on the time you want me to be with you during the birth. During labor I will stay with you the whole time, I will not leave. I will do everything possible to keep calm, to help where necessary. Provide relaxation, create the atmosphere you want, remind you of your intentions.

 

I guide you and your (birthing) partner in the right breathing, (foot) massage, relaxation and birth positions that are comfortable for you at that moment. I help you to guard your limits and wishes, I contribute where I can to make your birth as smooth and beautiful as possible. I coach, encourage, listen, catch and reassure.

After birth & maternity


After the birth, I will stay as long as you appreciate, or is reasonable for me to leave. Photos and/or videos I have taken will be sent to you as soon as possible.

 

When I come to visit you, we discuss your birth experience and of course that of your partner. We evaluate the process and depending on your needs we stay in touch.

My availability for you


You can call, whatsapp or email me from our first contact until 6 weeks after birth to ask questions, share concerns or update me. If your questions require medical knowledge or other expertise, I will refer you.

Starting at week 37, I will be available 24/7 by phone and available to assist you. If necessary, I will always provide ( known to you) back-up.

I will keep a file with relevant data.

Timeline


Below is the basic timeline, as it depends on when you apply and what your needs are. We schedule additional calls as needed. Many women report around week 20. Earlier is certainly possible, last-minute is also possible!

How often and for how long?
Preferably I see you once a month and more often at the end of the pregnancy, we can agree on this together, more or less, what you like. The sessions take one and a half to two hours.

 

1-on-1

A separate session with the pregnant woman alone and possibly with her (delivery) partner can contribute to optimal preparation.

 

Other sessions

Everything you like to discuss, what we haven't gotten to yet, what you can still practice, with the birthing ball or the rebozo, extra massages etc.

If you are single, I can help you with practical things like putting together a bed.

MAMADOULA track

 

Week 20 - first contact moment

Introduction by phone, zoom, at your home or in my practice. If it clicks, you will receive the intake form. Each contact we start with how you are doing, how you feel, what is going on.

 

Week 22 - 26

Further introduction, preferably with mother-to-be alone, going over intake form, discussing useful apps and previous experiences. 

We talk about wishes and expectations. We talk about, pregnancy, check-ups, labor, birthing positions, breathing techniques and relaxation, medical interventions, anxiety and pain (control), explain birth plan.

 

Week 26 - 32

Session in which your (delivery) partner is central, also

practice with partner massage. 

Finalize birth plan, massage tips & practice, relaxation techniques, make mutual arrangements and anything else needed

Week 32 - 36

Post partum prep: preparing for the postpartum period. You get a pregnancy massage from me!

 

Childbirth

When labor starts I am with you and stay with you as long as you appreciate it. After the birth of your baby I will not leave until we are all okay with that.

 

A few weeks after birth

Evaluation in a postpartum consultation. I love to see you all and review everything.

 

From our first contact until 6 weeks after birth, I will be available to you!
