Dealing with a bad birth, even if you are pregnant again
What about euphoric after childbirth? No way!
Have you had a terrible birth or think you suffered a trauma? Then it is essential to seek help and talk about it. Quite tricky, because new mothers are thought to be euphoric and happy after giving birth, right? Affected women often feel guilt and shame.
Have you had a traumatic experience?
Have you had a terrible birth, a loss that is difficult to process such as a miscarriage or stillborn child or another horrible experience? You may even feel that you have suffered a trauma.? Then it is essential to seek help, talk about it, start processing with EMDR, for example. Although it's difficult, it takes you a step further.
You feel sad or guilty, whatever you feel, it is actually helpful to talk about it, to increase the understanding of those around you and to get support. For example, talk to family and friends, your doctor, the hospital, the midwife or a therapist.
You are not alone! Also realize that this is not your fault.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, EMDR for short, is an effective processing technique for people who continue to suffer from the consequences of a shocking experience. Examples of this are a traffic accident or an experience with (sexual) violence. This can also be an event that has had a major impact on the development of your life such as emotional neglect, unpleasant experiences in the medical field, abuse, fears, phobias and other embarrassing, bullying or loss experiences, which continue to have an impact in the here-and-now.
Birth trauma & fear of delivery
EMDR is extremely suitable for processing fear of childbirth (perinatal anxiety) or childbirth trauma.
Intensive + short-term
EMDR is now one of the most widely used methods for the treatment of psychological trauma. EMDR is short-term, client-oriented, has a clear, protocol-based working method and has a solid scientific basis. People with complaints that are the result of a major event are generally able to resume everyday activities, like enjoying your baby, after a few EMDR sessions.

How do you know if EMDR is suitable?
First, extensive attention will be paid to the cause and background of your complaints. In addition, an assessment is made of a number of personal skills and the burden you experience from the complaints. This will show whether a targeted treatment via EMDR can be used for this.
More energy, peace & freedom
Therapy focuses on the past. There is a deeper individual exploration in the unconscious with the aim of clarifying and removing the blockages.
Perhaps it turns out that you don't so much have a problem or question, but rather a goal. Then we can, in consultation, switch to a coaching process. Maybe, if something arises that requires deepening, we come back to a more therapeutic way of working.
Coaching is a fast and effective way to give direction to your private life, work or study. Coaching can help clarify and break patterns, get more out of your talents, make better use of your possibilities and thus get to know your true self.
It is also possible that there is something that comes to light during a coaching process, which requires deepening. Then we can (temporarily) opt for therapy. We may then pick up the thread of the coaching process to focus on your goal again.
Other methods of
therapy & coaching
There are more methods to deal with bad things that happened or things that bother you. In my practice I combine conversations, drawings and other imagery with various methods such as the element quadrangle, EMDR, mind maps, core quadrants and mindfulness. I do not limit myself to one method or technique, but see what suits the person and the situation best.
The game forms used are the Inspiration Game, the Core Quadrant game and the Relationship Game.

Relationship Therapy
You can also contact me for relationship therapy, whether this concerns a romantic relationship or another relationship, such as a changing family relationship or with a colleague. After giving birth, your period of leave, all the worries you have, so much has changed that it affects the people you interact with, including yourself.
